Exhibitor Spotlight: MACS

What does MACS/STINNES do?

We offer specialised shipping solutions within our three dedicated trade routes on our multipurpose fleet which can accommodate almost any load, from breakbulk, project cargoes/heavy lifts to bulk and containers.
Our main trades are the MACS service from Europe to Namibia, South Africa & Mozambique where we offer up to 240 mt lifting capacity, the SANMEX service between Europe and the US Gulf and Mexico where we offer lifting capacity up to 300 mt and finally our GAL service between the US Gulf and Southern Africa.

What are your long-term plans?

Healthy growth and looking out for new business opportunities. We are closely following the developments off the coast of Namibia, Mozambique and in the Caribbean, aim is to be a part of the required shipping solution.
We continue to work on strengthening our MPP liner network and look at opportunities to improve our efficiency.

What was your biggest project of 2023/2024?

On the Southern Africa trade, that would be the TEMANE project. We have carried thousands of freight tons from all our European ports to Maputo where the customer appreciated our direct service.
On the USGULF/Mexico trade, we secured a number of large shipments, i.e. brewery equipment into Mexico as well as various project cargoes for Hydro&Gaspower plants into the US.

How do you feel about exhibiting at AntwerpXL this year?

It’s the second time we are present as exhibitor in partnership with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges and we are looking forward catching up with our partners and meet new people.

Any other exciting company news you have?

We recently orderd 4 MPP Heavy Lift newbuilds to replace part of our fleet. The engines are methanol ready as part of our decarbonisation journey.
