In early December, Vertom, a Netherlands-based shipping company, took delivery of Vertom Rita, the first of a series of 12 advanced diesel-electric shortsea vessels ordered from Chowgule Shipyards in India.
With a versatile box-shaped dry cargo hold, the 6,000 dwt Vertom Rita is designed to meet a wide range of shipping needs, including bulk and breakbulk transport. The vessel’s innovative design prioritizes operational efficiency, combining reduced energy consumption with optimised cargo capacity.
