Successful sea-to-rail Transport Trial Transforms Granite Logistics

De Filippis Company has achieved a breakthrough in logistics by implementing a successful sea-to-rail trial for transporting 3,000 tonnes of granite from Galicia to Lyon. Departing from Vigo and arriving at Montoir de Bretagne via the Vigo‒Montoir shipping service, this granite is now efficiently conveyed by train to Lyon’s Part-Dieu station. This innovative approach replaces traditional road transport, offering a more sustainable and efficient solution for urban development projects.

Partnering with Somaloir, a specialist in ro-ro logistics, and leveraging the expertise of the Suardiaz Group at Montoir de Bretagne, De Filippis Company has orchestrated a seamless door-to-door transport operation. Under the Opportunity initiative, this collaboration highlights a shift towards environmentally friendly multimodal transport solutions, setting a new standard in logistics efficiency and sustainability for the industry.
