The port of Barcelona has chosen Korea as the destination for its second digital mission that will take place from October 26 to 29. Korea is, perhaps, the quietest tiger of the so-called Asian tigers: Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. But when you analyze its macroeconomic figures, Korea is a tiger that roars loudly.
After carrying out commercial actions to other Asian countries such as China (2000), Vietnam (2018) and Japan (2019), the port of Barcelona has chosen Korea as the target country of its Port Summit Trade Mission and protagonist of its second digital mission. Despite the limitations of the pandemic, the port of Barcelona has not ceased in its efforts to continue with its trade promotion plans and this Port Summit Trade Mission Korea is proof and demonstration of this eagerness.
The online trade mission to Korea will build bridges to a powerful, mature market with great consumer potential. A virtual trip to the Asian country that will culminate in the strategic alliance with the port of Busan, which will result in the promotion of the construction of a logistics center in the Catalan capital for the entry of Korean products through Southern Europe. In this way, the port of Barcelona will establish ties with Busan, a geostrategic gateway in Northeast Asia that moves 40% of Korean exports that are made by sea and 80% of container traffic.
